イメージ
Introduction Shouji KONDO(1893-1977), is a Japanese epidemiologist who claimed he did the on-site observation research at over 1000 villages in Japan in 1930-1970s. In his book "Japan's Longevity and short-lived villages", he presented some very interesting insights regarding longevity based on his careful observations. Insights Eating habits is the most contributing factor to longevity. Depending on refined rice for large portion of calories intake shortens the life expectancy. Consuming salt-based preserved foods with refined rice shorten the life expectancy. Eating vegetables and sea weeds is good for the l.e. Eating fruits like oranges doesn't replace vegetables. Doing physical labor is not bad. Eating soy-based product regularly is good. Eating a lot of fish or meat meals causes the heart failure, shortens the life expectancy. Eating small fish whole body enhance the health. Comments Eating vegetable and less eating refine rice is mutually associated. The excreti...

Google Gemini has made a serious accusation.

Trends and Latest Estimates in Japan   According to the latest projections released by a Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) research group in May 2024, the outlook through 2040 has been significantly lowered from the previous 2015 forecast.   Background of Downward Revision:  Previous forecasts suggested that by 2025, "1 in 5 elderly people (20%)" would have dementia. However, latest data from four regions across Japan (including the Hisayama Study) show that the  age-specific prevalence rate is actually declining . This is attributed to improved lifestyle habits, such as lower smoking rates and better management of blood pressure and blood sugar levels. 3. Key Areas of Focus (As of 2026) Two major factors are currently influencing the trajectory of dementia statistics: Widespread Use of New Drugs (e.g., Lecanemab):  Treatments that remove th...

The neuronal Calcium accumulation hypothesis on Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's disease is one of the most concerned topic today. And it is often mentioned that Calcium is a major key factor of it. As the Magnesium deficiency does likely enhance the Calcium overload, Magnesium sufficietiation may have positive role for its prevention. Google Gemini conversation here . Google Gemini's Answer to the prompt "The neuronal Ca accumulation on Alzheimer's" The accumulation of intracellular calcium ( $Ca^{2+}$ ) is a central feature of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), often referred to as the "Calcium Hypothesis of Alzheimer’s." In a healthy brain, calcium levels are tightly regulated to manage neurotransmitter release and memory formation. In AD, this regulation collapses, leading to a toxic overload that drives neuronal death. 1. The Calcium Hypothesis of Alzheimer’s The core idea is that the hallmarks of AD—Amyloid-beta ( $A\beta$ ) plaques and Tau tangles—interact with calcium signaling in a "vicious cycle." Amyloid-bet...
