Shouji KONDO's "Japan’s Longevity Villages and Short-lived Villages"
Introduction Shouji KONDO(1893-1977), is a Japanese epidemiologist who claimed he did the on-site observation research at over 1000 villages in Japan in 1930-1970s. In his book "Japan's Longevity and short-lived villages", he presented some very interesting insights regarding longevity based on his careful observations. Insights Eating habits is the most contributing factor to longevity. Depending on refined rice for large portion of calories intake shortens the life expectancy. Consuming salt-based preserved foods with refined rice shorten the life expectancy. Eating vegetables and sea weeds is good for the l.e. Eating fruits like oranges doesn't replace vegetables. Doing physical labor is not bad. Eating soy-based product regularly is good. Eating a lot of fish or meat meals causes the heart failure, shortens the life expectancy.
